New York Comic-con

I am officially going to be back at NY Comic-con in October.  I was in Artist Alley last year and I’ve been accepted back this year – and have paid and gotten confirmation of the table.  Pretty excited, because I had a blast at the con and think it is a great size.  Not too ridiculous in terms of the Hollywood presence – which is what has ruined San Diego Comic-con.  I met a lot of great comic fans, comic artists and just cool people.  Can’t wait to do it again.

I was hoping to have at least one more book done by then, but I don’t think that will happen.  I may do something issues of Bulderlyns, Chasing Rabbits and R.E.M. – but remain undecided.  I will probably also have the first book in the Fuzzies series (created by Rob Codling) at the table.  It doesn’t really fit with Harbor Moon and some of my other books – but goes well with Bulderlyns.  We will see…  More updates on that to come…

Most Anticipated Movies of Summer 2012

I know summer started about a month ago, but I figured – better late than never.  I was supposed to be doing a podcast discussing these, but it didn’t happen.  Unfortunately, I’ve been sidetracked by a variety of projects that need my attention – and I’m training MMA at night… so getting to the movies has been harder than I hoped.  But I will see all of these except Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter before the end of summer.  I missed it and now I’ve heard lousy things so it’ll have to wait for home video.

35 Movie Minutes Earning Some Fans

I got a pretty great tweet the other day from Mark Fry (aspiring filmmaker and VFX artist).  He keeps a tumblr and posted one called ‘Interesting Podcasts’ and listed 35 Movie Minutes on there.  Right up along some podcasts that I listen to religiously (The Business, John August’s ScriptNotes).  It was a great feeling and the show will keep getting better as we keep going…

My plan is to be putting out more content.  I’m actually interested in bringing on more co-hosts – not for the weekly show but for film discussions, festival discussions and discussions about films coming soon (such as a Summer Preview).  So, if you think you’re that person – hit me up.  We work out of a studio in NY, but you can be anywhere.  The only thing that we ask is that you get a microphone and mixer so that the sound is professional level (a refurbished package, with headphones runs about $40).
